Bardis Music Co. Ltd. is the No. 1 independent Music Publisher in Ireland representing the interests of many local song writers and composers as well as international publishing companies. Bardis Music Co. Ltd. also administers a number of other Irish publishing companies.

Founded in 1973 its catalogue contains examples of all genres of Music from Traditional Irish music to current Dance and POP.

Director Profile - Peter Bardon

Peter Bardon began his career as a bass player with chart topping Irish beat group, The Greenbeats in the 1960s.

He progressed from there into Promotion and Management and was involved with the early careers of amongst others, “Thin Lizzy”, Colm Wilkinson, and the first and biggest Irish pop band of the early 1970s, “The Real McCoy”.

A born entrepeneur, Peter was also active in the retail trade having established a successful chain of Record Stores under the brand name Music Man. He simultaneously established the publishing company, Bardis Music in the mid 1970s which quickly grew to be and continues to be the No 1 Irish Publishing Company with clients from all areas of Irish music, representing such people as, composers Ronan Hardiman (Lord Of The Dance,Feet Of Flames, Celtic Tiger) and Stephen McKeon (Pierce Brosnans 'The Nephew' and John Boormans 'Celtic Tale'), and Eurovision winning writer Shay Healy ('Whats Another Year' performed by Johnny Logan). Bardis Music also represents many international clients in Ireland including the biggest selling recording artist of all time, Garth Brooks.

In the early 90's Peter served as a Board member of the Irish collection agency IMRO and assisted in the smooth transition from being a subsidiary of PRS to a fully independent organisation. An acknowledged copyright expert, Peter is currently the Chairman of MCPS Ireland.
